Abstract

Selfdiagnostics is an Estonian-German company with a vision of democratizing molecular diagnostics. The company pioneered online sales of rapid diagnostics tests, as well as developed and now manufactures Europe’s first pocket PCR test, the Multitest. The founder and CEO of Selfdiagnostics, Marko Lehes, will present the story behind the Multitest’s concept, creation and commercialization. The presentation serves as a case study of developing and successfully commercializing an innovative medical device from scratch. Marko will share his experience and share valuable insight into technical, personal and financial challenges that arose as Selfdiagnostics transformed from a startup into a small enterprise that today has active sites in both Estonia and Germany.
